The best gifts are unfailingly those that bear the personal touch of their givers. The personal signature may be seen in the meticulous way the gifts are chosen, or in the unmistakable way they are wrapped. Giving a gift from the heart is like giving a part of oneself. Among my brothers and sisters, the one I least expect to take the trouble of imagining a gift for me during my birthday was my brother Mark, who is a preacher. He gave me as a present Home Security Systems since I have probably told him one time how an episode from a crime show I was watching made me worried about the security of my house. He wrapped his gift in a delicate manner and had it sent to me just in time for my birthday. I did not expect to get that kind of gift from him since most of our conversation after he became a priest was how God is such and such. The DIY Security Systems he gave me was a stark contrast to what I expected from him. To be honest, I expected getting another bible from him! Instead, he listened to my story when I got to talk about that crime show with him on the phone. I was deeply touched by the sweetness and kindness of his heart. It made me think about God’s small miracles that he shares with us. Im not that religious. But my brother proved me that I should be since I have a lot of things to thank God for.
